  i didn’t hear any about me, my dad was there to squash any of that.

  but, a guy who left on his 18th birthday, moved cross country, had the rumor started (by elders), that he was now in prison for selling cocaine.

  lol, he’s an artist in california.

  i can only guess at the goss that must have gone around when i finally got the chop.

  i had started an affaire with a married sis i had always fancied. Her husband and i were friends: i was teaching him to drive. He confided in me his marriage was in a bad way--no sex. I was surprised-to say the least. Long story short--he suggested to me we could try a bit of swapping to liven things up. LOL--it did that alright. ( He was baptised ! But rather weak in every way )

  this is how it started:

  I attended the circuit assembly--and the 4 of us sat together in the public talk. Afterwards--he invited us to their place for the evening. After a meal--he and my wife went to their kitchen to clean up--and he whispered to my to try my luck with his wife--give her a kiss--see what happened . I did.

  Over the next few weeks it all got way out of hand. My wife filed for divorce--even though we were still living together. I moved out--rented a place and the affaire went on. After a while the husband came to see me--said he was also moving out and would i like to move in to his house--with his wife !

  His wife was d/f--and apparently it was announced i couldnt be d/f because i had resigned years before ( which was true )--but should be treated as an apostate and shunned. Hey ho--if it makes the bros happy!

  I did move in with her It was all chaotic. Their kids were in the same school classes as my 2 boys. He was constantly turning up to see his kids--and rowing with his wife . One day i grabbed him and threw him out into the street. At the end of that summer i had had enough--and moved out of that mess.

  She and i carried on seeing each other--and staying over, but i knew she wanted to make things right and get re-instated..which meant marrying or going our separate ways. I chose the latter..there was no way i was going back to that cult. Stuff em.

  All the above is true and took place between autumn 1980 and spring 1982. By then--other scandals were breaking in that congregation so i think i was forgotten about.

  I read the user name as I am all cool.

  As soon as i was independent of my parents..married..own home..i lost all interest in religion.

  I dont need a crutch to lean on. Some folks do..its their choice.

  i was raised believing i was very fortunate knowing i had the truth.

  i was groomed to be an elder.

  i figured if mother said something, even if i couldn’t totally understand it, it was correct because mother knows best.

  i just accepted it as fact--it must be the true religion because we ( parents + me ) were in it. But that was when i was just a know it all kid.

  if this post is not appropriate for this forum, the mods can remove it.. i have cd copies of the wt library 1999 (qty: 1), and burned copies of the wt library 2001 (qty: 2).

  i have no interest in them.

  i doubt most people here do either.

  hi all.. i'm 42 years old.

  i have had two jabs of the oxford-astrazeneca vaccine.. after my first jab i experienced flu-like symptoms - shivering, wanted to lie down in a dark room, etc.. i experienced no side effects after my second shot.. how about you?.

  how many jabs have you had?.

  i'm 73--had both jabs months ago--Oxford. No side effects at all.

  My wife (51) had hers at the same time..felt like she had a cold for a few days after the first one.

  We test frequently.

  its such a proven formula.

  Young JW family--daddy finally decides enough is enough with this stupid cult--and quits. Quickly the machine kicks into life and the cult emotionally supports the wife and in no time the family is broken. Daddy is no longer good enough and mummy keeps the kids and daddy is rejected from their lives.

  Happened to me--and also to my son--history repeating itself.

  Anyone else recognise the pattern ?

  when you became an unbaptized publisher, (i was about 12), or when you dedicated your life to god,(org) and took the plunge?

  Since You Have Left The Religion Are You Happier?

  i realize that some activist exjws really don’t seem to be happy in life.

  they finally got away from the organization and yet seem still negatively connected to it.

  some exjws are always upset because of what the “truth “ did to their lives, which is understandable.

  i broke all connection to the cult 40 years ago. But within 4 years my 3 kids had been poisoned against me and didnt want to see me any more. This caused many years of heartache. But 12 years ago i found out my older son had been d/f'd--and i set about tracing him through facebook. It took a while--but we soon got reconciled and now enjoy a good close relationship.

  My daughter is 50 on sunday--but ive given up hope with her.

  my younger son--he will be 43 next birthday--but we havent had any form of contact since 2001--and that was his written reply to me refusing any contact.

  But ive come to terms with it. It is a heavy price to pay for freedom.
